A delegation of Malaysian business circles has recently visited the design bureaux, production site and the EcoTechnoPark of CJSC «String Technologies».The members of the delegation are working closely with the government of their country in the development of the transport infrastructure of the Penang state.
Malaysia on the whole is characterized by one of the highest economic development rates in Asia. Its average annual GDP growth was more than 6% from 1957 to 2005. After the economic crisis in Asia, which began in 1997, the Malaysia’s economy recovered much faster than in neighboring countries. Recently, Penang has become one of the most visited places in Asia, the main center for business forums.
The attractions are scattered throughout the island. In addition, Penang is the third largest trading center in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, so it’s not surprising that, despite good development, the state’s infrastructure can no longer cope with the growing traffic flows.
Along with tourism, the state economy is based on high-tech industries. It is here that the enterprises of such largest international electronics manufacturers, as AMD, Intel, Motorola, Hitachi, Bosch, Osram, B.Braun and many others are located.
