UST Inc. engineers tested the uLite emergency braking

Unitsky String Technologies Inc. continues the cycle of activities to change the purpose of the «uLite» transport and infrastructure complex to cargo and passenger. The specialists of the Company have already completed the first stage of commissioning works. The rail electric vehicle will soon be sent to the production facility for inspection. 

«As of today the unimobile has travelled 3,300 kilometres. The final stage of the current stage was a series of emergency braking tests. This is one of the most important points to ensure safety when transporting passengers. Such tests mean the ultimate loading of the vehicle's systems, after which a thorough examination of the vehicle in laboratory conditions should be carried out, to which the uLite will be sent in the near future. It is also important to assess the condition of the track structure subjected to extreme braking loads», — said Vitaly Lapkovsky, Chief Designer of the high-speed transport complex.

«uLite» transport and infrastructure complex includes two stations, flexible track structure, automated control system and rolling stock – rail electric vehicle uLite. Track length — 1,120 m, span distance — 250 м. The track structure of the complex connects the lakeshores and recreational areas of the ecopark, difficult to access and remote locations.

An automated control system is responsible for trouble-free and safe operation of the «uLite» complex. Additionally, the situation on the track is controlled by a dispatcher. The two-way communication system, which is installed in the Unimobile, ensures communication between the vehicle and the dispatch center throughout the entire route of the Unilite.

In particular, testing the «uLite», functioning UST Inc. engineers carried out the adjustment of all transport systems. In parallel, documentation was being prepared for approval by state regulators. The next stage was the debugging of acceleration and deceleration modes of the unimobile to determine the most comfortable driving parameters for the passengers. Also, the adjustment of determining the position of the electric rail vehicle on the track structure and debugging the function of maintaining a given speed of transport were carried out.

During the electrical safety tests of the unimobile, the specialists of the company confirmed the correctness of the adopted solutions in order to exclude any potential threats to the health of passengers. One of the final activities was the testing of dynamic transport characteristics and actual safety margins. UST Inc. engineers verified the curb weight and fully loaded weight to avoid excessive loads on components and systems, and to ensure operation in accordance with the specified modes.
