uSky Transport pays special attention to quality of works performed on Test Track 4. Since most of the structures are made of metal, the specialists of the Company often perform welding works. These works require experience, technical expertise and adherence to safety standards. Therefore, upon completion of any stage of works, mandatory quality control is carried out.
Welded joints tests —are procedures that are carried out to evaluate quality of welded joints and ensure their compliance with standards and requirements. These tests are usually carried out at production stage or during quality control after welding is completed.
The main purpose of welding joints tests— is to ensure reliability and safety of welded units and joints. Such tests allow to determine how well the welded joint is made, and to identify possible defects or shortcomings in it.
In addition, at this stage, the following are evaluated: yield strength, elongation per strength unit, weld hardness, as well as the quality of the welded joint for the presence of pores, cavities, cracks. In the attached report, one can observe such parameter as yield strength, which is here equal to 734 MPa. In this case, yield strength of base metal is 690 MPa, which confirms required strength of welded joint. The cross section and actual values of weld hardness indicate quality of works in accordance with EN and AWS standards.
