At the uSky Testing and Certification Centre in Sharjah, the implementation of a transport flyover with a semi-rigid track structure continues. The line is more than 2 km long and will allow for freight and passenger transportation at speeds of up to 150 km/h. The construction work has now been completed and the final stage of the track installation has begun.
The complex is designed for the organisation of movement of heavy unmanned unimobiles weighing more than 30 tonnes. One of the differences of the string-rail flyover — the large unsupported span length of more than 250 m. This will make it possible to overcome water barriers, mountain gorges, and to build roads over transport, industrial, residential and energy infrastructure facilities.
«Now preparations are underway to form the rolling head. Among other things, safety, comfort, driving speed and noise levels of unimobiles depend on this element. Work is also beginning on the installation of an unstressed section — an addition to the flyover that will allow the rolling stock to start from ground level. There will also be the hanging of unimobiles, commissioning and maintenance of transport», — says the chief designer of the high-speed transport complex Vitaly Lapkovsky.
Once installation is complete, the commissioning of individual systems and the entire complex begins. Subsequently, the 25-seater unibus U4-212-01 — the latest development by UST Inc. will be tested on the line. The testing of the overhead unicont with the carrying capacity up to 30.5 tons, which will allow the transportation of 20- and 40-foot sea containers, will be carried out on the same tract.
